SUMMARY:Lebanon Working Group Meeting 29/11/22
DESCRIPTION:This is a working group focused on discussing latest developments in Lebanon and potential solutions for the future. It takes place on Tuesday 29th November at 3pm GMT/ 5pm Beirut time. As usual, the meeting will be off the record. There will be two key speakers: Mr Assad Chaftari and Mr Jaafar Al-Ahmar.\nMr. Asaad Chaftari served as a senior intelligence official for the Lebanese Forces during the civil war and was involved in the Sabra and Chatila massacre. He published a letter of apology to the Lebanese people in 2000 in the national newspaper for his war actions and is now an author. He has dedicated his life to promote personal change, peace building and reconciliation.\nMr. Jaafar Al-Ahmar is a senior journalist with over than 30 years of experience. He is an expert in political issues, international affairs and specifically middle eastern affairs.
