Summary
No single, fully reconciled “total trucks into Gaza this week” figure can be responsibly produced for 21–28 August 2026. The three reporting channels that between them cover aid entering Gaza do not report on the same schedule, to the same standard of verification, or in every case at all currently. What follows is the most complete and most current picture obtainable, broken out by channel, with the reliability of each explicitly flagged.
Group 1: Private Sector (Gaza Chamber of Commerce)
No figure available for 21–28 August.
The Chamber of Commerce reports to the Cash Working Group on a Monday–Sunday cycle, which does not align with NCF’s Friday–Friday reporting week. The most recent published figure is for 3–9 August 2026: 878 truckloads, of which 264 (30%) reportedly carried non-essential rather than critical items.
This figure is stale by more than two weeks relative to this report and must not be read as a current total. No more recent Chamber of Commerce figure has been located as of 29 August 2026.

Note: this dashboard tracks UN agencies and registered international NGOs only. It reports by delivery route rather than named crossing; per UNOPS, all routes above are offloaded via Kerem Shalom/Karem Abu Salem and Erez West/Zikim, the two crossings currently in use. Gaza-side truck counts do not correspond 1:1 to trucks on the Israeli side, as Gaza-side vehicles are typically smaller.
Group 3: Bilateral State/Government Donations
No complete or independently verified figure available, for this week or generally.
Unlike Groups 1 and 2, bilateral state aid has no single tracking body, no fixed reporting cycle, and no independent verification. Figures come from self-reporting by each donor government.
The most recent dated figure located, from the UAE (the largest single bilateral donor, under “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3”), covers “the first week of August”: 75 trucks / 663 tonnes, via the Rafah crossing from Egypt. This pre-dates the current week by roughly three weeks and is provided by Emirati state media, not independently verified.
No comparable weekly truck count was found for Jordan, Egypt, or Qatar.
This figure is not additive to the Group 2 total above without further reconciliation: Jordan’s aid channelled through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization is already captured within Group 2, since JHCO is a named UN2720-registered partner. UAE, Egyptian, and Qatari state channels do not currently appear on the UN2720 partner list, so their flows are probably — but not confirmedly — separate from the Group 2 figures above.
A Note on COGAT (Israeli Government Data)
Israel’s own aid-tracking mechanism, gaza-aid-data.gov.il, is not usable as a current source. NCF has tested its date-range search function directly and found it returns no results for any period in 2026. The most recent dated COGAT report locatable on the same domain covers data only through 7 June 2026. COGAT spokespeople have continued to make public statements about aid volumes via press and social media into late August 2026, but these are not traceable to updated figures on COGAT’s own published dashboard.
This finding — that COGAT’s own official tracking tool appears non-functional and unmaintained for 2026 dates — is NCF’s own, following direct testing, and is not sourced to a third party.
Caveats
- No figure in this document should be summed into a single “total trucks entering Gaza this week” — the three groups cover different, overlapping, and incompletely reconciled populations of aid.
- Group 1 and Group 3 figures are not concurrent with the reporting week and are included only as the latest available reference points.
- Group 3 figures are self-reported by donor governments and carry no independent verification.
- Possible overlap between Group 2 and Group 3 (beyond the JHCO case noted above) has not been ruled out.
- Israeli government (COGAT) figures, historically the most divergent source from UN reporting, are currently unobtainable for any 2026 period.

22 August: British and French ex-diplomats publish open letter demanding sanctions on Israel over Palestine
23 August: Israel’s strikes on Gaza continue, hitting a mosque, a water plant and tents housing displaced people, killing at least seven people.
23 August: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a joint statement threatening military escalation and forced displacement in Gaza over kites, balloons, and drones.
26 August: The Board of Peace’s High Representative for Gaza, Nickolay Mladenov, stated to the UN Security Council that failure of the ceasefire process could reach a ‘point of no return’

Gaza Governance
Transitional Administration:
The National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) is designated as the Palestinian civilian administration for Gaza under the Gaza peace framework.
Head: Ali Shaath, Chief Commissioner of the NCAG.
International Oversight:
The transition is overseen by the Board of Peace, with Nickolay Mladenov serving as High Representative for Gaza.

Hamas:
In July, Hamas announced it will transfer civilian and security governing authority to the NCAG. The transfer remains in progress, with the implementation of Hamas’ disarmament and the full establishment of NCAG authority still unresolved.
